Sarah and Gordon, August 20th 2010
When Gordon and Sarah first started dating we immediately fell in love with the architecture and Chicago history of the Palmer House. We hope you enjoy the decadent grand lobby and newly renovated rooms as much as we do!
While the Palmer House is located in "The Loop", and is only three city blocks away from the Rookery (.4 miles), we will be providing a Trolley service to and from the hotel and reception and back to the hotel. Beginning at 6:00pm CST the Chicago Trolley Company will shuttle guests from the Wabash Street entrance to The Rookery Building. After many tears and laughter at the end of the night starting at 11:00pm CST until the end of the reception the Chicago Trolley Company will shuttle guests back to the Wabash Street entrance at the Palmer House.
Childcare will be provided for children under the age of 14 from 5:00pm until 12:30am the day of the wedding. We have reserved one hotel room that will be supervised by Diane Hochsetter. Diane is CPR and first aid trained and has over 5 years of professional Nanny experience with children ranging from those in diapers to the Twilight obsessed. We are so lucky to be able to have Diane, a long time friend of the family, help us with our wedding. Another Nanny will be provided based on the number of little ones who need this service. Diane will organize age appropriate activities and snacks, drinks and dinner will be provided. (Room information to follow closer to the wedding).
